*Duration: 6 months +*

   - *Must have at least 5 years of architecture / design / configuration
   experience in HP ALM / UFT / ART tools.*
   - *Software Engineer V to support the objectives of the Trails
   Modernization project and the transition of manual testing to that of
   automated testing through the use of the HP Tools.*


   - General job duties and qualifications of an OIT Senior Software
   Engineer are defined below. In addition, to support the HP Tools transition
   activities and CDHS / OIT business needs related to this project, the
   following specific qualifications and experience will be required:



   - Must have at least 5 years of architecture / design / configuration
   experience in HP ALM / UFT / ART tools.
   - Good understanding of tool templates and their application across a
   software development lifecycle (SDLC).
   - Experience providing technical training for the HP toolset defined
   above across the SDLC (business analysis, development, testing, and
   support).
   - Knowledge of HP Tool system metrics and associated reporting best
   practices.
   - Experience with producing technical process and procedure
   documentation.
   - Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
   - Ability to work in a collaborative team environment on fast-paced
   dynamic projects.
   - OIT Software Engineer V Job Duties and Qualifications Job Summary: The
   Software Engineer V will be responsible for the technical design and
   configuration modifications approved for the HP Tool applications. In
   addition, the Senior Software Engineer V must be able to provide technical
   documentation and training for the HP Tool application set being used by
   the CDHS Trails OIT team. This position works closely with team members to
   ensure alignment across each service application, system and service,
   including implementation of coding standards, version control, security
   standards, and application optimization. This position is also responsible
   for ensuring each solution is managed following the System Development Life
   Cycle.The Software Engineer V has responsibilities across the full Software
   Development Lifecycle (SDLC) from business requirements to support but is
   primarily focused on development activities, production of supporting
   documentation and delivery of technical training. These includes working
   with business analysts, developers, testers and support personnel along
   with customers to understand specific business requirements; working with
   team members to apply secure configuration techniques using standards and
   best practices; performing unit testing, configuration management, and
   deployment and release management services as needed. Operational support
   services vary in scope from major enhancements (change orders) to producing
   technical documentation and providing technical training.


*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*

   - Handle simultaneous requests of varying complexity from within OIT.
   - Adhere to Change Management policies and protocols established by OIT,
   particularly related to implementing production system changes.  Technical
   Evaluation Use development and testing tools for application management;
   prepare reports; streamline business processes; explain and document
   project plans and processes.
   - Request infrastructure resources required to support development or
   testing platforms for applications. Resources will include servers,
   storage, networking, etc.


*Project Coordination*

   - Coordinate project reporting and tracking through standardized tools.
   - Provide assistance to the project managers, development managers, and
   technical teams.  Application Development and Support Consult with the HP
   Tool System Administrator and others as appropriate to design application
   configuration changes in line with OIT strategies (e.g., Cloud First,
   Mobile First, Secure Colorado, etc.).
   - Collaborate with Business Analysts, Customers, Project Managers, and
   others as appropriate to assist in the creation of estimates and timelines.
   - Develop applications in line with business requirements using Agile or
   Waterfall methodologies as needed.
   - Determine configuration change impact to the Trails Modernization
   project and align changes to reduce risk and re-work for project vendor(s).
   - Perform configuration management changes in accordance with standards
   and best practices and further minimize defects through disciplined unit
   testing.
   - Organize, build, and validate all configuration changes related to a
   specific build (release) for final User Acceptance Testing.
   - Ensure development activities within the position’s scope of
   responsibility are consistent with established service portfolio policies,
   procedures, standards and guidelines.
   - Determine the best approach for configuration change to meet the
   customer’s current requirements and anticipate future enhancement needs.
   - Identify and recommend changes to development policies, processes,
   templates and standard operating procedures to improve the overall quality
   of work being delivered. Support the development of technical documentation
   and technical training.
   - Collaborate across a matrix management environment with other
   developers and other OIT department staff as needed. Must understand lines
   of authority and follow protocol to engage other resources.
   - Find unique ways to resolve issues in the development process to meet
   the requirements of the customers and lead to the most efficient
   implementation possible.Tracking and reporting of work assigned Working
   with the supervisor, develop estimates of the work effort necessary to
   deliver application solutions based on the project specifications provided.
   Record time spent on work activities into the approved project tracking
   system. Provide appropriate progress reports to the supervisor or project
   manager as requested.
   - Determine reasonable and accurate estimates for the completion of
   assigned work activities.


   - *MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS Work Experience: *5 years of experience of
   progressively more complex configuration and training experience on HP
   Tools assignments with experience managing requirements for software
   application configuration management, service delivery, and customer
   satisfaction, or relevant experience in an IT applications/solutions
   delivery role. Education/Training: Undergraduate degree from an accredited
   college or university in information technology, computer science, or
   related field. (Relevant experience may be substituted for education at the
   hiring manager’s discretion.)Functional/Technical Knowledge & Skills



   - Documented proficiency working on HP Tools applications.
   - Documented proficiency working collaboratively with teams across the
   software development life cycle.
   - Familiarity with producing technical documentation and developing and
   delivering technical HP Tools training.
   - Proficiency in time and task management.
   - Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft
   Excel.
