Dear All, Get those creative juices flowing ....
During the meeting in Tunis, we had the idea of starting a remix project across the arab world amongst artists and creative with different talents, from audio, to video, graphics, sketching, comics, creative writing ... which can be compiled into one final work and presented during the CC International Gathering in Poland in September. That would also help the artists get to know each other and learn how they can build on each others work which is the whole purpose of CC and the CC Community. IN SHORT: By the end of Next week, Friday 15 July, I need a reply from those of you who want to contribute and what sort of artwork would you produce. THE THEME: Seeing the wave of change that is sweeping the region, the theme of the project is around showcasing the new wave of creative freedom as well as interweaving the influence and interrelation of culture and events which we all share in the region, to showcase the extraordinary wealth of invention and enthusiasm towards sharing and art that we have in the region, as well as how each and every artist sees it differently and illustrates that. HOW WILL WE EXECUTE THAT? To facilitate that we will follow the following: - Stephanie volunteered to build a simple wordpress website where the artists can upload their work and write about it ( Jordan open source and CC Qatar will help with any technical needs / hosting) 1- An artists starts the work, by creating their piece of the puzzle and writes / documents the process, how he/she got inspired , the concept in a blogpost 2- That artwork is sent to the next artist, who has to build upon it, or create a new piece of work that integrates or draws inspiration from that work, then he sends it to the next artist and upload his brief on the website and soon 3- Final committee (one artists from each domain) will remix the work into a final video that would be showcased in Poland - Artists would be working based on deadline to make sure we can complete the project in time - Of course all the work would be licensed under CC BY NC license. NEXT STEPS: - Members of the CC community, feel free to share this email with others in your community and other artists - If you want to be part of this project, send an email by Friday 15 July, in reply to this email, confirming that you would like to participate and what sort of artwork would you individually like to contribute ( e.g. you want to contribute a photo, illustration, audio, song, poem, short movie, translation..,..) , based on that we will draw and share a calendar - Stephanie , please let us know know what sort of help do you need in builkding the website, I can take care of the basic content and let us draw a plan for that ... - ***** If someone can translate this into arabic, for those in the community who can not understand english it would be awesome.***** Looking forward to all of your responses and working with you guys and seeing how the art evolves.
