Hello Gaber and All,
Before you end this discussion in the list here I need to
clear some v. imp. legal points:
Gaber you have rights for sure according to the Egyptian IP
Law 82 /2002 at least for your moral rights which is considered obligatory and
a public order. also if you used the CC Ls unported BY-NC ... so no one can
delete
your name and over and obove use it to make commercial profits.

Hi Gaber
thanks for your email and I`m sorry they copy-pasted your work without
giving you credit..I dont think he was an educated guy..there are
other names for ppl who do this stuff:)
anyway..
one very important update on the legal side is that the Egyptian team
is about to launch the licenses translated and adapted according to
Egyptian copyright law.The work was delayed because of the revolution
and the post revolution events, but we`re almost there and inshallah
Hala and her team will announce the news in few weeks max

as for organizing a meet up, I`m all for it and maybe we should move
this discussion offllist with you and the other Egyptian ppl
interested, I`m willing to help setting a Salon or something there,
and I`m lecturing in Cairo end of June so maybe we could organize
something when I`m there inshallah

pls for those who are interested let`s continue this conversation on
pvt so not to over change the list

all the best and thanks Gaber for contacting us on this issue..we
really need a community to grow in Egypt, you guys are doing amazing
stuff
salam
dona
