Hi, I'm a long time fan of WordPress project (currently i'm Romanian localization team driver), and I saw your Developer Challenges where you are offering a way to contribute to both the CC community and WordPress project so, I'm really interested this summer in dedicating some time (coding) for Open Source and that's why I would like to apply.
I like both ideas of the WP plugins you described (hope the proposal for the RDFa plugin will come from the guy who started it last year), and here's some ideas I got for the Media Manager part: * Write the code that can handle the licenses data and update automatically that (fetch it from a webservice or hack to get updates from existing webpages). Hook it with the update/query process to get it automatically maintained. (The Model) * Write the code that can handle fetching of the licenses (if exists one) on embedded media. Add some filters to `the_content` that will render license notes under media. Maybe some JavaScript hover. (The View) * Write the logic part for media manager, where end-user will be able to select a license for the uploaded media, themetadata will be stored offering an option to be edited after. * Add settings option where user will be able to define a default type of license which will be applied in case of fast publishing. Or, maybe choose some license types which will be used and skip (not show) the whole list. I'm also a Free Software activist for the last couple of years (http://softwareliber.ro/en is our community website), so I'm interested in giving back to Open Source, and CC seems to be one of the right ways of doing that. If there are any ideas or thoughts on my proposal, I will be happy to read them. Thanks.
