Hi group,

While going through my configs and comparing with the PG I found something
which I do not understand. It’s about task 2.1 regarding the part “Do not
automatically errdisable ports if there is a channel-group error.”

The PG tells to use the command: no spanning-tree etherchannel guard
missconfig

But if I apply that, and then check the “errdisable-detect table”,
channel-missconfig is still enabled, see partial output below:

Cat3550-2#sh errdisable detect

ErrDisable Reason Detection Mode

----------------- --------- ----

arp-inspection Enabled port

bpduguard Enabled port

channel-misconfig Enabled port

To me, this command only tells the router not to display an error message
once a channel missconfig has been detected. The following descripiton can
be found on the command lookup tool:

“To display an error message when a loop due to a channel misconfiguration
is detected, use the spanning-tree etherchannel guard misconfig command in
global configuration mode. To disable the error message, use the no form of
this command.”

So could please someone clarify that?

regards

Roger
