As far as I know BGP uses as path attribute to make it a loop free routing protocol ,and eigrp uses DUAL algorithm to make sure it is a totally 100% loop free routing protocal, but some one said ospf can be loop,I have not see that,may when it has not synchronized when topologes changed, but one thing I am sure that ospf is built loop free.For iis algorithm is SPF dijkstra method.The routing tree it is built from the router who built the tree to every other nodes for sure no loop.
