I get confused on the question like Volume 2 Sect 4 question 8.3 which asks to configure CAR on R8 for 3 different protocols. I can understand how to set it up, however when it comes to the "Normal burst" and "Max Burst" I get lost on deciding on what numbers to put in. I thought that I had read or maybe it was on the BLS videos where it was said something like you need to set the burst at 1.25 or 1.5 times the rate limit so that you will actually reach that average. But when I look at the Proctor guide I see that for a 16k rate limit that the Normal and Max where set at 3000 and 6000. Where do these two numbers come from? Why are they set at 3000 and 6000? If you run into a question like this on the lab, could be marked wrong if you did not use the 3000 and 6000 and instead used some other number. The question just states to set the limit to.. Nothing about bursting. Rob
