Well, what I am finding is if you did a "proper" CCNP then that really
lays down the foundation for the CCIE. They say it's like stepping
stones to the CCIE, but I think it's more like a huge chasm of death to
bridge the gap. However, I gathered this list, and from I am using so
far is below.. Some of it is more geared towards the lab, but in order
to understand concepts you got to get your hands dirty on the rack.

Routing TCP/IP vol I (2nd ed) & II by Jeff Doyle)
MPLS Fundamentals
CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Certification Guide, Third Ed. (4th
edition is coming out in a couple weeks, so you will want to wait for
that)
BSCI, BCMSN, ISCW and ONT exam certification guides (this does a good job of
laying down the beginning of the end so to speak)

CCIE Routing and Switching Exam Quick Reference Sheets
Cisco Press 2008 CCIE Routing and Switching Practice Labs
CBT Nuggets CCIE Package
CBT
Nuggets CCNP BSCI BCMSN < I thought these were awesome and the way
this guy teaches is great. Walks you through the hows and why and the
wierd nuances in everything.

Train Signal CCNP - This is
taught by Chris Bryant CCIE 12933, it's good material. He's a slow
speaker but if you just put play speed on "fast" it sounds normal :)

And....(yes
theres more!) RFC's. Don't dismiss these, they are dry reading yes but
they tell the story from a neutral standpoint that can tie things
together if you get stuck.

And and and.....

And of
course, our friends. Ipexpert VOD now the reason I put them last, is if
you are looking for a "from the ground up" you need to really start at
the beginning with CCNA material, nail the basics, then go through the
CCNP material and nail the basics of the more complex stuff. I was
silly when I did the CCNP BSCI - I was like "BGP? I'll not be needing
that" Big mistake, the CCIE lab is all up in your face with BGP so
better make good on this one.

It
made it easier to get a reward by learning the CCNA, earning the CCNA
then going through the CCNP (all 4 exams) passing the exams and earning
the CCNP and then just keep on truckin' to the CCIE RS written and of
course the lab.

phew! that's my 6 cents on it. 2 cents was not enough :)

Good
luck man, I am just fresh one month into studying and damn there is A
LOT. I am sure I am missing something on my list and I'll get corrected
for it - but hey that's what we are here for right?
