Hi Nick,

If you have a looopback configured it would take precedence over any
physical interface.  Regardless of the IPs.  ie if you have an ethernet
interface which is 223..255.255.254 and a loopback which is 1.0.0.1 and no
router-id configured under the ospf process then the router-id would 1.0.0.1
once the ospf process starts.
