Hi Team :

Could anyplease please clear this..

*Please see attached diagram and configurations.*

Note :-- I am doing this practical on GNS3 not real routers/switches
1) IGMP snooping is enabled on 6509 and 2950.
2) IP Pim dense mode is enabled on Vlan 1 and Vlan 2 so that they can send
query.

Now question is

from SOURCE when I do a ping to 239.1.2.3 , I do get reply from Host 2 but I
dont see any outputs in mac multicast table and igm group table on 2950 as
below

*2950#show ip igmp groups*
IGMP Connected Group Membership
Group Address Interface Uptime Expires Last
Reporter Group Accoun
ted
*2950#show mac-address-table multicast*

NM Slot: 0
--------------

    MACADDR VLANID INTERFACES
2950#

As per IGMP Theory , switch adds the corresponding ports who are interested
in receiving multicast to its forwarding table but i dont see it. Moreover
nothing is shown up in IGMP group table. Howver I see IGMP group on 6509.

Could anyone please clear this concept when , On Which devices (Layer2 or
Layer 3) and how we see the IGMP snooping table ?
