I thought of this the other day and I thought I would share it:

Question: Your PC is unable to traceroute to a server on the other end
of the network. Between your PC and the server are two routers, R1
and R2. R2 has implemented a firewall which is denying ICMP echo
requests and allowing all other traffic. You may not change the
firewall settings. What is the solution to this problem?

Answer: Stop using windows : )

Explanation: Most OS' use UDP in their implementation of traceroute,
while Microsoft continues to use the ICMP echo-request packet.
