In this case you would get the points for 2.1 and 2.2 and you would not get the 
points for 2.3. 

 
For example the section 2 is 10pts
 
2.1 - 3 pts
2.2 - 3 pts
2.3 - 4 pts
 
You would get 6/10 pts
 
That is my understanding - 
 
 
Now if there was a task say 2.4 that depended on other tasks and you configured 
that task 2.4 correctly and misconfigured the task 2.2 then I am not sure if 
you 
would get the points for the 2.4 even if it was correctly configured. I will 
leave it to others to comment on that one

No, that is not correct. However, you ARE graded on WORKING solutions.
If your solutions don't work, anything depending on that task will get
no points.
 
Each task is all-or-nothing, but sections aren't.
