I'm not having any issues with this task but just need some clarification on
it. The question is asking us to secure OSPF by adding authentication within
OSPF area 0 with password ospfAS1. I always configure for MD5 unless
specifically asked not to, plus the question said to "secure OSPF", which plain
text authentication fails to do IMHO. So the DSG shows it like this:
Router ospf 1
Area 0 authentication
interface FastEthernet0/1
Ip ospf authentication-key ospfAS1
My config uses MD5
Router ospf 1
Area 0 authentication message-digest
interface FastEthernet0/1
no ip address
ip ospf message-digest-key 1 md5 ospfAS1
I'm assuming either way would work but just wanted to make sure.
Thanks in advance
Steve
