I was thinking that maybe auto qos would help me determine whether it was
needed or not.

3560
____

Tried "auto qos voip trust" on a GIG interface after disabling QOS, there were
no changes in regards to flowcontrol

interface GigabitEthernet0/1
 shutdown
 srr-queue bandwidth share 10 10 60 20
 queue-set 2
 priority-queue out
 mls qos trust cos
 auto qos voip trust

So I am thinking that you do not need to turn off flowcontrol on 3560. Time to
do the same test on 3550

3550
____

Tried "auto qos voip trust" on a GIG interface after disabling QOS, there were
no changes in regards to flowcontrol

interface GigabitEthernet0/2
 description R2 - Gi0/0
 switchport access vlan 222
 switchport mode access
 switchport nonegotiate
 mls qos trust cos
 auto qos voip trust
 wrr-queue bandwidth 10 20 70 1
 wrr-queue queue-limit 50 25 15 10
 wrr-queue cos-map 1 0 1
 wrr-queue cos-map 2 2 4
 wrr-queue cos-map 3 3 6 7
 wrr-queue cos-map 4 5
 priority-queue out
 spanning-tree portfast trunk

:(

Well I am off to find it in the 3560 guide but at first glance there is not
references regarding flowcontrol

I think the manual says something about it having to be disabled for
proper operation.
