Hello, In a case of a non-congruent mcat/unicast topology like what we could found on the troubleshooting section Vol 3 Lab5 :
fa0/0 --------------- f0/0 R2 R5 s0/0 --------------- s0/0 Where Pim is only enabled on s0/0 interfaces and IGP route between R2/R5 loopback is thrue f0/0, we need to set MBGP between R2 & R5 and set Next-hop to s0/0 interfaces. That's clear but what is exactly the priority for rpf selection : 1 Is MPBGP route is choosed first ? even if the exact same route exist in igp. -> That's what I observed in my lab. 2 Is Best distance's done between MPBGP and igp is done ? in this case MPBGP distance needs to be changed to something lower than IGP for RPF to be succesfull. -> That's what is in the solution guide but I can't reproduce it MPBGP is always prefered. As on literature we could sometimes read 1 or 2 what is true ? is it depending on IOS version ?
