Hey everyone,

I'm confused on yet another question, although I understand CBWFQ which is very
simple to configure (bandwidth, bandwidth percent, or bandwidth remaining) I'm
really not understanding why the DSG shows us using 85% of the interface
bandwidth?

Using the 75% rule I configured my CBWFQ which doesn't match the DSG (again).
The 75% rule states that the bandwidth calculation should not exceed 75% of the
total available bandwidth for the interface.

So my configuration (see below) doesn't exceed the 75% recommendation whereas
the DSG does exceed it (see below) by 10 totaling 85%.

So would I lose points on this question since I used 75%? Where does the DSG
get this 85% from?? Why would we use 85%?

My configs

class-map match-all TEST-Sql
match dscp af31
class-map match-all TEST-Citrix
match dscp af21
class-map match-all TEST-Ftp
match dscp af11
class-map match-all TEST-KazNap
match dscp cs1

policy-map R7-to-R8
class TEST-Sql
  bandwidth percent 25
class TEST-Citrix
  bandwidth percent 20
class TEST-Ftp
  bandwidth percent 16
class TEST-KazNap
  bandwidth percent 8
class class-default
  bandwidth percent 6

int s0/0
service-policy output R7-to-R8

The DSG policy-map Configs

policy-map R7-to-R8-Output
class TEST-Sql
  bandwidth percent 29
class TEST-Citrix
  bandwidth percent 25
class TEST-Ftp
  bandwidth percent 17
class TEST-KazNap
  bandwidth percent 8
class class-default
  bandwidth percent 6

Marko and Tyson I'm sure you are off teaching a bootcamp so you wont respond
quickly so thanks in advace.

Steve
