LACP packets are exchanged between ports in these modes:

.http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gifActive-Places a port into
an active negotiating state, in which the port initiates negotiations with
remote ports by sending LACP packets.

.http://www.cisco.com/en/US/i/templates/blank.gifPassive-Places a port into
a passive negotiating state, in which the port responds to LACP packets it
receives but does not initiate LACP negotiation. In this mode, the port
channel group attaches the interface to the bundle.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_RS] LACP

Hi all:

I was reading about LACP protocol:
LACP uses the system priority with the router MAC address to form the system
ID and uses it during negotiation with other systems.
The LACP system ID is the combination of the LACP system priority value and
the MAC address of the router.

It says the system ID is used during negotiations but...what kind of
negotiations, what's the aim from those negotiations?.
