That is a very good point – 

 

I am sure there is no quick answer to this......I may go down the security 
track first and wait for the dust to settle. I have to get R&S out of the way

I think it is also important to ask who is willing to pay for sessions with the 
expensive hardware.  It wouldn't be $25 a session like it currently is for R&S.
That will be a driving factor in building the rack.

I'll be doing the SP track as soon as I get my R&S. Thats a very good
question though. XR based kits aren't exactly cheap. Marko had a link to a
petition for Cisco to open up their code for training purposes. Hopefully
Cisco will comply. I would love to get a "dynamips or IOU" for XR, XE, and
NX. And I can imagine as time goes on, native IOS will probably be used less
and less on the SP and SP Operations track. (I would hope at least :) Looks
like the SP 3.0 track already has XR on it for the 12k.
