straight away answer to your second point :

more than 1 NM-ESW will not work the way it is expected to behave until and
unless these are STACKED .
Now from real gear point of view ; you waste one port on each card ....
connect them with a cross cable and issue stack-port CLI ..

>From GNS point of view ; you cannot do this . hence i suggest you using only
one ether-switch module in ISR .
