But it doesn't - only to use them when necessary and in the process it
teaches you when things are necessary and when they are not.

Volume 1 labs DO NOT mimic the lab exam, they are designed to teach
you the technology, tips and tricks... and in the process slap you
around a little bit ;-)

I do agree - some of the language COULD be a little bit more clear,
for sure. However, i it's too clear, those labs may fail a part of
their purpose and that's to prepare you for the ridiculous
requirements of the real lab exam.
