In my opinion pseudowire remains the most viable way of interconnecting
data centers when l2 spanning is required.

Cisco's otv is supported on limited platforms and is still in its infancy
with regards to being a tried and tested technology and vpls (which
incidently also uses pseudowire) requires mpls which is usually not
extended into the data ceter.

Apart from direct l2 connections which have their own drawbacks, I can't
think of any other options.

For that reason, I think that pseudowire should be included in the r&s
exam. Not saying that it is, just saying that it should.
