on few ipexpert labs I see the routing loop redistribution problem solved by
tagging, should we be worrying about suboptmal path in the lab?
Take LAb 3 Vol 3 Configuration - Marco it's your video. One router (R6)
redistributing from OSPF into EIGRP, two routers R5 - R9 running both EIGRP and
RIP and going for mutual redistribution.
The issue is that when we redistribute the external eigrp prefixes into RIP
they get ad 120, so the routers now see an original OSPF prefix that has gone
through eigrp on the RIP domain; they redistribute it back into eigrp, etc etc:
routing loop.
Solution:
EIGRP to RIP redistribution: deny prefixes tagged with 120 tag the rest with 90
RIP to EIGRP redistribution: deny prefixes tagged with 90 tag the rest with 120
This solves the problem of loops, but the router on which we redistribute last
preferres the original OSPF prefixes via RIP, is it an issue?
