Sorry I know this is a long trail mail but I feel as though I need to pitch in here.
When I started studying for my CCIE I did quite a bit of research before purchasing a product that could assist me on my journey. I came across the sites that have the material that one does not speak of. ;) I eventually went with the IPexpert material but continued to look for good sources like routing-bits and certification forums. I never used these before but I was going to do this and I was going to do it right. I didn't want to take the general 3 attempts to pass the lab, I wanted the number on my first attempt. The more time I spent on these forums the more I realised how many people were cheating, sorry but that's how I see it, to get this number. And why not? You passed the lab and got a huge salary. That was 3 years ago. I am no longer studying to get the holy grail because too many people were cheating and that was/will start affecting the salaries not to mention the damage to the CCIE reputation. This is my personal view and for me it was all about a pay increase. Others do it for personal reasons and I fully support that. I still have my IPexpert material which I always seem to use, despite some issues in the workbooks, it's a great product. No I don't work for them or resell their products. My point is the catalyst (my pun for today) effect is they are hurting the CCIE status, the pay and the company they work. I chose to not pursue the certification rather than cheat and although I sometimes regret not going for my dream I still wake up everyday knowing I did the right thing. Good luck on The Journey.
