I just finished Marko's latest MPLS video. I can usually get MPLS VPNs to work
great when I set them up from
scratch. Where I get into trouble is when I have to troubleshoot someone
else's configuration with many peerings (and there is a ticking clock and a 3
point value ticket assignment involved.... ) I know there are some favorite
issues out there like /24 on the loopbacks when OSPF advertises /32
or when the CE router has some VRFs and won't use the VPN routes because VRF
lite is not on, etc.... But, I don't really know how to look
for these issues without peaking at the configuration. What are some good
verification commands or steps to use without doing a 'show run'.
I gathered these:
"show mpls forwarding" to look for local assignments
"show bgp vpnv4 uni all labels" to look in BGP table for proper label
importing/exporting
Also, is there a way to not use ldp/tdp with some directly connected neighbors?
Say with something like "neighbor 1.1.1.1 send-label" I saw this in a practice
lab and am not quite sure what it does.
Thanks,
Brandon
