Hi,

briefly, the major difference is with dynamic crypto map, only 1 end of the 
tunnel can initiate traffic.

its mostly used in a client - server (ezyVPN) senarios.

DMVPN is a type of site-2-site where you have more than 2 
sites. generally mGRE + NHRP + routing protocol (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF) is 
used together.

You'll want to use DMVPN to scale site-2-site vpn where u have a central site 
(HUB) and multiple remote sites (spokes). And any of the site can initiate 
traffic.
