I was just going over ios nat and came across something in my notes that does not make sense any longer (how often does that happen) When doing policy static nat in IOS, what is the reversible keyword for? ip nat inside source static 1.1.1.1 2.2.2.2 route-map rm1 or ip nat inside source static 1.1.1.1 2.2.2.2 route-map rm1 reversible I know with dynamic policy nat, this allows traffic to originate from the outside as well, but on a static translation this is already allowed. I performed a test, the first one without the reversible keyword. I was still able to come from the outside -> in. And I saw the same results with the reversible keyword used. Does the reversible keyword have a different purpose for statics? Or does this command have no affect on statics?
