Im not 100% and cannot confirm in the docs but is this because you can only have 1 key enabled at the interface for RIP and EIGRP at the interface level.
Can you enable different keys to different interfaces? OSPF is different as this allows you to use different keys, maybe for different areas etc. when using area authentication.
