Hey guys,
I wanted to send a small email about information I have found recently. I am not sure if there are additional people that have passed the test but Atul Dalvi currently passed the lab on September 15th, he left feedback on our blog but did not send out an email letting the list know. Here is his post. "I thank IPEXPERT for their new CCIE Security 3.0 workbook.I passed my ccie lab on 15th September 2009. I used it which was very useful for preparation of OEQ and practical lab. I have now 2 ccie. R/S AND Security. I am going to look at voice workbook and go for 3rd ccie. Once again, thanks IPexpert! Atul K. Dalvi CCIE (R/S,SECURITY) #23155" When I was in RTP on Friday I spoke with the proctors and confirmed what Brad was saying on this list and groupstudy as well. They have made some changes to the exam recently and I am confident now the material in the workbooks is a good preparation for the exam. I will be releasing another lab today or tomorrow for Volume I; the Configuration portion of IPS Lab 3. And probably later this week or early next week we will release Lab 8 mitigating network attacks both configuration and troubleshooting. I will have Volume II finished in the middle of November. You still need to spend a lot of time in the documentation to prepare for the Open Ended Questions but I think in the next little while we are going to see the passing rate for the Security exam begin to get more in line with the average passing rate of the other CCIE's. By no means am I saying that it is going to be easy. It is still one of the most challenging, but I do feel after much of my recent feedback from students offline about how they felt walking out, no NDA breaking, that you guys should be feeling happy with the direction of our product line. I am sending this out not as a sales pitch but to give you guys a little encouragement as some of the recent comments about the "Impossible" nature of the security test may have been accurate during the summer but I think the test is more in line with where it needs to be now. Happy Labing guys, please let me know anything I can help you guys with. Regards, Tyson Scott - CCIE #13513 R&S, Security, and SP Technical Instructor - IPexpert, Inc.
