Hi Chris,

Also, you can simulate ASA with VM.

see this url: http://asa_project.gromnet.net/.

I actually stick with GNS3 and ACS on VM for most of the tech labs and do the
rest - mostly full labs, on proctorlabs.

Regards.

Chris,

QEMU will support PIX, PIX supports up to 8.04 so that should be
good
Dynamips supports either the 3700 or 7206VXR router
3700 support up to 12.4(15)T
7206VXR have continued support

So essentially with just GNS3 you can support most everything
except Catalyst switches and the new IPS.

You can connect your virtual devices to real Catalyst switches
thru external connect to overcome the catalyst switch limitations of dynamips.

The tutorials right on GNS3’s website are very good for
beginning with it.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Security] GNS3 Support for the Version 3 Security
Blue Print

I had a couple of questions about the implementation and
supprt of the newer devices in GNS3 for the new Blue Print.

1) Does GNS3 support the new devices such as the ASA, 3800
series ISR?

2) Is there a newbie guide for installing or upgrading to
support this?
