Hi, I am taking the lab in Feb, will be my 1st attempt. Will hopefully not get a "rude awakening".
I am doing labs almost every day and realized that typing the commands is almost as important as understanding the technology. I will redo a lab until I can type it into notepad, memorizing the commands is what I am doing to a certain extend BUT the specific lab will only focus on one or a few aspects of the technology, the next lab covering the same technology may include a new "gotcha" you have never seen before. Getting all bases covered is the requirement and knowing the technology will make things easier. I am also open for suggestions or comments on study methods. And needless to say I haven't passed yet. I would constantly do full labs every weekend and then read up on the technologies that I had issues with. Although I did learn a lot and am better off for it, it didn't get the job done. This time I am taking a slower approach. I am studying a specific technology, doing small (1 - 3 hour) technology focused labs and moving on when I am satisfied with my knowledge - keeping in mind the open ended questions. I haven't scheduled my lab yet and won't until I feel I am ready - because of the 90 day policy. When I get close to my lab date, whenever that is, I will start on full labs to get me in the zone. I am hopeful that my new strategy will serve me better. I find myself doing a couple of labs a week and fail to really understand and learn all the technologies. Do you guys have any suggestion in studying away from the labs? Labs keep me focused with tasks but when I pick up a book to read about technologies I doze off or fail to comprehend much. Since there is no "task" or "goal" I am not getting anywhere on my alternative studies. Any help would be appreciated. -Kelly G _______________________________________________ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com _______________________________________________ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com _______________________________________________ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com
