Brandon makes a great point, one of my attempts was predicated on the idea that
I could pull down the PDFs and search them knowing the key words... not a good
plan I was 15 minutes into a download of a 27 MB pdf and had oinly gotten <5MB.

Practise navigating the support site so you know where to find everything,
technotes and command references.

then you should be all set.

Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Security] Searching the online documentation

First thought that came to mind is that I wouldn't search, rather prepare
yourself to navigate quickly. You should be able to do a ctrl+f in internet
explorer and search the entire page that's displayed. If you open the master
index this can be useful. Otherwise, I'd avoid searching since you can't do it
on the test.

On the other hand- if it's to quickly find something that you are studying and
you want to only search the Cisco docs then check out this google search and
you'll see how I did it.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1C1AVSU_enUS355US355&q=transparent+site:+http://www.cisco/com/en/US/docs&aq=f&aql=&aqi=&oq=

Basically you search for your term followed by the following: site:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs

Hope that helps.

Hi there – Does anyone have any tips for how to quickly search through the
entire documentation for keywords or topics on the cisco website. I can do an
internet explorer search on each page/chapter – but is there a way I can search
the whole book?
I was using the PDF versions before but I figure we won’t be able to do that in
the lab.
