Sorry the max burst should be 6000 - my mistake From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Davis Sent: Wednesday, January 27, 2010 9:22 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Security] rate-limit lab 7a Hi Everyone - just a quick question. On lab 7a - task 7.7 how did you calculate the burst and excess burst to get the value you did in the DSG for these tasks? Just curious - for example on task 7.7 I used the following command: rate-limit input access-group 100 16000 3000 4000 conform-action transmit exceed-action drop I divided 16000 by 8 then multiplied it by 1.5 to get the normal burst, then did the same for the max burst but multiplied by 2. Stuart pointed me to this formula in the docs, so I have been sticking to it. Do these settings really matter? Is there a set formula we should follow in the lab?
