Hi

I got my hands on an ancient 2600-router. SInce it has only one
ethernet-interface I have to make a trunk to my switch. However I cant add
ip addresses to the interfaces. Why?

interface FastEthernet0/0
 no ip address
 duplex auto
 speed auto
interface FastEthernet0/0.10
interface FastEthernet0/0.11
interface FastEthernet0/0.13

r4(config-subif)#ip address 10.10.10.4 255.255.255.0

% Configuring IP routing on a LAN subinterface is only allowed if that
subinterface is already configured as part of an IEEE 802.10, IEEE 802.1Q,
or ISL vLAN.

r4(config-subif)#

r4#sh vlans

No Virtual LANs configured.

r4#

How do I create vlans? The config-mode "vlan x" doesnt exist. And, do I have
to configure encapsulation dot1q? There is no encaps command in
interface-config mode.

It is ancient, I understand thats the reason for my confusion. But I have
squeezed in an 12.4T-image in it.
