If I were in that situation i'd continue te troubleshooting by: 1) see if either device shows up in ARP-table. 2) Check interface-counters on switch. Does both xmit and rcvd packets increment? 3) Make the switchport a real switchport and see if the PC MAC-address shows up in the CAM-table. 4) Reboot both pc and switch. 5) Have a chat with proctorlabs. Stranger things has happened in the lab environment.
