I got into the habit when I was doing R&S and never really broke it. The only time it becomes a bit annoying is when you want to see output on two devices at once (usually VPN testing) but you can mitigate that somewhat with buffer logging. One practical tip that hurt me in my most recent Security attempt: try to get used to NOT having a ton of browser windows open with documentation. The candidate PC's in the lab (at least in RTP) still do NOT have a ton of RAM, and if you open tons of browsers you'll eventually slow the PC down to a crawl. I was seeing it take upwards of 10-30 seconds to load a new page/link at one point. Next time I will keep it to maybe 3 windows (config guide, command reference, other).
