Hi all Cisco is the pioneer for GRE
I see, there are two RFCs for GRE - RFC 1701 and RFC - 2784. Also RFC 2890 adds two fields to 2784. Is 2784 being used by all vendors? With Wireshark, I observed that Cisco IOS (12.4(15)T13) is using RFC 1701. The authors of 1701 are from Cisco except one person. One of the author for 2784 is from Cisco. The author if 2890 is from Cisco. Shall I take that Cisco IOS uses RFC 1701 for GRE implementation and Cisco Certifications are based on that? Please share your thoughts. With regards Kings
