Jim,

Several things for neighbors.

MTU must match. So on the Cat1 interface

interface VLANX

ip mtu 1500

or

system mtu 1500 (and reboot)

subnet mask must match on the two, double check it

use show ip ospf interface brief

make sure both are in the same area.

Make sure neither of them (or both of them) have the stub flag set

area X stub

or

area X nssa

So the 4 things that must match are

MTU

subnet mask

Area

Stub Flag

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Security] Lab 19 OSPF neighbor with ASA2 and CAT1

Hi all,

Lab19 went pretty well except what should be an easy item...I could not
establish a neighbor relationship between ASA2 DMZ interface and CAT1. I
even took off the keys, defined a neighbor etc. Is there something needed
to make this work?

Thank you,

JT
