It is the only way to do consent proxy.

Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Security] Can auth proxy tasks be done with ip admission?
To: "CCIE Security Maillist" <[email protected]>

The ip admission stuff from user-based firewall has auth-proxy like
functionality.

The DSG for the Lab17 UBFW task also makes use of auth-proxy like config
commands and ip admission commands.

I'm wondering whether using "ip admission" instead of "ip auth-proxy" can we
accomplish all auth-proxy tasks?

(note: I'm not referrring to NAC-type tasks but replacing all "ip
auth-proxy" commands with "ip admission" equivalents.)

Though I've not seen anywhere in DocCD that mentions that ip auth-proxy is
deprecated.
