If you configure the global command "mls qos" then the switch will begin to
remark all traffic to precedence 0 by default unless you trust the port.
"mls qos" is disabled by default.

 

So if it was enabled globally then you would need the command below to trust
incoming precedence values.

yes unless specified- all switch ports remark traffic to BE.  Routers trust
everything.
