Has anyone come across any references about TCP options value in Cisco docs? The question asks to explicitly permit TCP echo and echo reply options on the ASA.
I was able to find them here http://www.iana.org/assignments/tcp-parameters/tcp-parameters.xml It looks like the ASA software is sort of behind RFC because kind 6 and 7 are obsoleted by option 8 which makes sense because it's software ver 8.0 and IANA published it recently. And by the way, looks like option 19 is also obsolete as well. I tried to configure the tcp-map on the ASA just for the sake of the test to allow option 29 but it didn't allow MD5 authentication between two BGP peers.
