Well, there is a difference. Starting from IPS 6.1 you have application called IME to manage the device and it looks different from the application for IPS 6.0 (as far as I remember the previous application was called IDM). I've also noticed that when I try to create custom signature, sometimes I don't see some engines in 6.0, which are present in further releases.
I have the same problem as you - I have IPS 4215 in my lab. I solved my problem by downloading IME 6.1 and using it in demo mode :-) I just always check how the configuration would look like in IME and where are the options that I need. Of course at the same time I configure my IPS with IDM or CLI (which can be painful) just to make the task work, but I try not to get used to the look of IDM, because during the exam you use IME. -- Marta Sokolowska. 2012/7/8 Matt Hill <[email protected]> > Hi There, > > I was wondering what the "minumum" IPS you needed for 6.1 for the lab was? > > I was thinking of a 4215 but that only seems to go to 6.0 on CCO.
