Well, there is a difference. Starting from IPS 6.1 you have application
called IME to manage the device and it looks different from the application
for IPS 6.0 (as far as I remember the previous application was called IDM).
I've also noticed that when I try to create custom signature, sometimes I
don't see some engines in 6.0, which are present in further releases.

I have the same problem as you - I have IPS 4215 in my lab. I solved my
problem by downloading IME 6.1 and using it in demo mode :-) I just always
check how the configuration would look like in IME and where are the
options that I need. Of course at the same time I configure my IPS with IDM
or CLI (which can be painful) just to make the task work, but I try not to
get used to the look of IDM, because during the exam you use IME.
