Yeah, I thought of that too. Problem is . Task 2.1 says that all lines must support 3 active inbound calls and 5 concurrent calls total. So, setting the max calls to 1 would defeat task 2.1.
Any other ideas? I'm wondering if there is a way to get all the points. If change max calls to 1, you can put the receiver down then pick it back up again to get dialtone, but you can't call anywhere. Pressing any digit gives "Error Pass Limit". So we are left to semantics of the question. We can't start a new CALL. but we can start a new dialtone. Definition of call would have to be the ability to get ahold of another person and talk to them, their VM, etc. _____ From: Michael Ciarfello Sent: Monday, August 03, 2009 12:15 AM To: Michael Ciarfello; Brian Valentine; [email protected] Subject: RE: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] VOL 1 - TASK 2.3 ..But if you hang up and pick up the receiver while on hold it still gives dial-tone on a new line. Also change max calls to 1? _____ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Michael Ciarfello [[email protected]] Sent: Monday, August 03, 2009 12:13 AM To: Brian Valentine; [email protected] Subject: Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] VOL 1 - TASK 2.3 hey, good one. I read that as can't start a new call using the softkey which was removed. But you are correct. Yes, there is a way. Just tested it. Look on the phone device page. _____ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of Brian Valentine [[email protected]] Sent: Monday, August 03, 2009 12:05 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] VOL 1 - TASK 2.3 This task us to configure CUCM so that if a user has placed someone on hold, they cannot begin a new call. The PG says to create new softkey template, removing the "NewCall" button from "On Hold", and then assigning the new softkey template to the phones. I agree. I tried this. It doesn't meet the requirement. Once I have a call placed on old, the "NewCall" softkey is gone, but this doesn't keep me from being able to place a call. I can just hit the speaker button. Does anyone know if there is a way to meet all of the requirements? Thanks, Brian
