The problem was the check box on the gateway configuration. After looking at every available option on the gateway, I found out CUCM wasn't send the name in the first place :)
I do have a follow up question though. I'm really confused about the logic around "no supplementary-service h225-notify cid-update" If the command is by default "supplementary-service h225-notify cid-update", it seems to me this would ENABLE the CID to be updated. It doesn't make sense to me why DISABLING this with "NO supplementary-service h225-notify cid-update" actually allows the gateway to trigger an updated display on the phone.
