I was working thru the first couple of labs - infrastructure section. I have some questions about the provided solutions. Not sure if I'm overthinking the answers or not.
For the Phone NTP Reference, why use the WAN router and not define the CUCM server as the Phone NTP reference? Would using the CUCM as the phone NTP reference have been wrong in the lab or just a matter of preference? In keeping with the overall goal stated about "redundancy or resiliency" I defined the CUCM -SUB as the first phone NTP reference and the CUCM-PUB as the second one inside my date-time groups. In the section where you need to eliminate the dependency on DNS, change the name to IP address under "server". The solution also showed editing the enterprise parameters for the Directory/Services/ etc.. This makes sense but the solution lists the *Subscriber IP* in the URL. I was under the impression that most (if not all) of these functions were only provided by the publisher. What would be a correct config in the Lab or was that a typo ? In the 1B section troubleshooting, there is an explanation about disabling CSA on the CUCM server to get DHCP to work. I didn't need to do this. Did something get missed when I reset my pod for that lab or is the explanation not correct? _______________________________________ Brian Van Benschoten - CCIE # 5421 Managing Consultant - Unified Communications Core BTS - North Central Region 3001 West Beltline Highway Madison, WI 53713 USA (P) +1 (608) 661-7780 (F) +1 (608) 661-7701 [email protected] www.corebts.com [Core_logo_4c.jpg] ________________________________ Important Notice: This email message and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed.
