I just took my first lab yesterday, in San Jose, and the proctor gave us 3 hrs in the morning with 5 in the afternoon.
The proctor stayed with us the entire time I left my cell phone in the car and I was not allowed to go to my car during the 8 hr session. We started about 8:15 and finished exactly at 5:25, only a 40-45 min lunch, trust me you don't want an hr lunch, you'll want lab your work whenever possible. I know a smoker who took the test and they could leave to take the a smoke at the cost of their lab time, they could also smoke at lunch but in each case only in the designated area and the proctor could see them very well.
