Hi Craig, as far as I know the lab room depends on the location where you take the lab. E.g. in Brussels the equipment is in another room with no access for candidates, but I have heard of other locations where the hardware stuff is right next to you.
And I place my APs usually one next to the other, never had issues with interference in a lab environment (unless I did some stress testing ...)
