I am having a little difficulty finding in the command reference a good
explanation of the command:
*station-role workgroup-bridge multicast mode {infrastructure | client}*
>From what I can determine so far:
infrastructure – will only accept 4 MAC address headers
client – will only accept 3 MAC address headers
My question are the following correct assumptions:
1. I assume the 3 or 4 MAC header is in reference to multicast packets
only;
2. The Root AP to which this workgroup bridge associates would need
the command ‘infrastructure-client’ to get it to send 4 MAC header multicast
packets;
3. The command ‘*station-role workgroup-bridge*’ will accept either 3
or 4 MAC header packets (both reliable and unreliable);
So correct configuration would be:
[*Reliable Multicast*]
Root AP:
int dot 0
station-role root
infrastructure-client
WGB:
int dot 0
station-role workgroup-bridge multicast mode infrastructure
[*Unreliable Multicast*]
Root AP:
int dot 0
station-role root
WGB:
int dot 0
station-role workgroup-bridge multicast mode client
-or-
station-role workgroup-bridge multicast
Thanks in advance,
Leigh.
