Hey Leigh, I know for a fact that the service ports don't use defaut gateways. Their only concerne is to enable communications from WLC service ports (2 internal backplan gigabit ports 9 and 10 on WISM) to the CAT65k supvervisor. Default gateway is not needed but I don´t think you break anything by putting them in.
A site note form this: One thing to add with service ports on the other WLC's (2106 and 4400) The design was to put this port on a managment VLAN for disaster recovery (or even to manage from the same Layer2 Vlan) And only supports being used from the Same VLAN (non-routable, also there is no gateway there either) But I found out recently that you can route from the service ports to other vlan's by pointing a route to the next gateway on the CLI! So you can add other subnets that can connect to the service port. In this example the service port is on a 10.10.10.0/24 network and wants traffic from 192.168.100.0 network. (WLC1) >config route add 192.168.100.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.1 (WLC1) >ping 10.10.10.10 Send count=3, Receive count=3 from 10.10.10.10 WISM is a special case. I haven´t tried it there, but it makes less sense since the managment port there is only internal CAT65k to WISM. I probably would not touch that :-) regards. The solution applies the command: interface FastEthernet2/20 mls qos trust cos It would help in this question if it mentioned the model of the module that the phone is connected to. If its connected to a 6248/6348 it would not. To get it to work with a 6248/6348 you would need to configure a policy-map due to a hardware limitation policy-map trust-cos class class-default trust cos ! interface FastEthernet2/20 mls qos trust cos service-policy input trust-cos Reference here<http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps700/products_tech_note09186a008014a29f.shtml#limit_linecards> Comments welcome. I noticed in the solution guide you left the echo interval as the default 15 seconds. When I read the documentation<http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/location/2700/6.0/configuration/guide/lacg_ch4.html> it mentions that the neighbor dead interval should be: *"Note *This value must be at least two times the echo interval value. " So should we increase the echo interval to 30 seconds ? FYI - WCS doesn't complain either way when you enter it and submit.
