For VLANs on the lab, filter based on what they specify. The only exception to this is if they do not specify what to filter for the WLCs. If the APs are on a different VLAN than the Management interface, but that VLAN is allowed to the WLC, the APs will likely not join.
Start the configuration without filtering any VLANs (except as just noted.) Verify that things work. Then, limit your VLANs. That is where drawing the lab topology and marking VLANs in some way on the connections comes in very handy. Jason Boyers - CCIE #26024 (Wireless) Technical Instructor - IPexpert, Inc. I have one question about this lab or in general: The wording of the questions in this lab is not as tricky as some of the questions in the real lab or as in lab 5. > Has someone already done Lab 5 of WB2, how hard is it, because I want > to go through it tomorrow? I'll be working on it this weekend (hopefully). > I know from the depolyment guides etc. that it is best practice to > only allow these VLAN's needed on the trunks to WLC, AAP and H-REAP > LAP. But what about inter switch communication, is it "lab best > practice" to filter the VLAN's or do you prefer to allow all the > VLAN's (except that a question maybe asks for a special VLAN to be filtered)? Well, for interswitch links you will not loose points to allow all VLANs unless they specific tell you otherwise. But be aware that you might have a VLAN you will need to exclude. /Ralph _______________________________________________ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job?
