Hey, Y'all was wondering if i could pick your wireless brains..
I was out at an automotive assembly plant today, and at the end of the assembly line, they use handheld barcode scanners to scan the cars as they come off the line. the scanners come in two models lxe 6726 mx2 and intermec ck3. the intermec ck3 scanners work all the time no problems the mx2 , work sometimes but they time out alot and just dont work. the mx2 only have one antenna internally and hence no diversity.. the ap is an autonomous 1242 running 12.4 code , with 5ghz turned off and a standard cisco 2.4 patch on the lxe mx2 we are only running leap and wep ( i know , i know... it is what it is lol) . will the command dot11 wpa handshake timeout time 1000, still have an effect? even though only leap and wep are running? i am thinking that it will just be an ignored since the handhelds dont use WPA am i correct in thinking this? was also going to issue this command packet retries 128 drop-packet (applied on the dot11radio 0 interface) anyone ever worked with the LXE 6726 mx2' s and know how to put them into CAM mode ( constantly awake mode) Thank you for your time
